Dear Friends and Family:
I want to thank you all so much for the outpouring of support, the thoughts, and the prayers that have helped the girls and me get through what has been a very difficult three months since Jeff’s passing. I also want to thank you for your contributions of meals, gift cards and generous monetary donations.
Having been overwhelmed by the generosity of so many people, I wanted to be purposeful in making the best possible use of the donations that so many of you have sent me. I have; therefore, set up a trust named The Baurer Irrevocable Education Trust. The official legal name of the trust is:
ATG Trust Company, Trustee of the Baurer Irrevocable Education Trust Dated Dec 21, 2012
As the name of the trust implies, the sole purpose of this trust is to hold and manage funds for the higher educations of my girls. This education trust is irrevocable, exists for the sole purpose of helping to fund the girls’ higher educations, and is managed by a corporate trustee, ATG Trust Company, www.atgtrust.com/about/index.asp.
In the event that there are any funds remaining in the irrevocable trust when my youngest has completed her higher education, all residual funds are contributed to a perpetual charitable Donor Advised Fund that I have created and funded in order for the girls and me to honor Jeff:
The Jeffrey W. Baurer Three Star Family Foundation; a Fund of American Endowment Foundation
Several years ago Jeff and I created a small company of our own for his real estate interest and my at home recruiting business. Jeff named the company My Three Star Products, Inc. (which Jeff and I affectionately called “Three Star”) after our three daughters whom Jeff worshipped and adored. Three Star was and is the perfect name for an ongoing living tribute to Jeff. This Foundation is administered by American Endowment Foundation, www.aefonline.org.
The purpose of the Family Foundation is for the girls and me to meet routinely in the future to determine worthwhile charitable causes to which we can request grants from the Foundation in order to honor Jeff. I am very proud that the Family Foundation will sponsor The Jeff Baurer GHS Memorial Scholarship to be awarded annually to a Geneva High School senior. My daughter, Sarah, GHS Class of 2016, will announce the first ever recipient of this scholarship at the Senior Awards Night this spring.
As the girls become adults it is my hope that this perpetual Foundation will exist as another way for the girls to always remember and honor their dad who loved them so much!
